Curious Kitties Fab Find

Curious Kitties Mesh Avatar
(There is a surprise in them there crystals...The ever seeing eye is watching this curious kitty. Eep!)

A few days back I hopped over to Curious Kitties for a poke about. I hadn't been there for a while and was taken back by the volume of different things available now. I happened to stumble across this "Kittenz Luth Avatar" in the new Unreal Fuzz section of the store and was amazed to see that it was free.

There are three different things to pick up on the wall. One board contains the mesh avatar (including hair which I'm not wearing), the second contains a pair of matching mesh hands and the final one has a complete outfit consisting of shoes (worn), jeans (worn), bracelets and a t-shirt.

For those of you that like to customise you avatar and/or show your appreciation to creators for their generosity in offering such high quality free items like this one there are several things available to dress little Luth up in.

There are skins in varying shades, a few different head types and clothing in the form of trousers, tops (shown in the picture) and a dress. Additionally, at the time of posting, there is a set of free elf ears available for members of the Curious Kitties update group that have been created to compliment this adorable avatar perfectly.

I'm off to see what other surprises I can find!
Until next time,
Kooky.

Filthy Kitty

Filthy Laika II Tan 1 2 3 4

Today I'm bringing you news of another sale on skin. This time it's the Filthy's Laika II.

At the time of posting you can pick up this pretty skin for just L$ 99 but I don't believe this sale is going to go on for much longer. If you want to take advantage of this deal I'd encourage you to wiggle your way over to the store sooner rather than later so you don't miss out.

Filthy Laika II Tan 5 6 7 8

Inside the box you receive 8 versions of the same skin each with a different make-up on it. You also get a shape (not shown I'm wearing my own) as well as a tattoo and undershirt layer so you can show off a wonderful cleavage if you so desire.

There are four tones available - Cream, tan (shown here), bronze and dark.

Until next time,
Kooky.

Carnival Time!

Roll up! Roll up!
Hurry. Hurry. Hurry!

Carnival Time!

If you are like me, both a lover of a bargain and fun quirky things, I'd encourage you to head on over to Miasnow as soon as you possibly can.  On the upper level of the store they are currently having a sale on their skin fatpacks. You can purchase an entire set of skins and a shape for a mere L$100 when a single skin is priced at around L$400.  The web blog states that the sale would 'end tomorrow night' on the 25th April, so I have no idea how much longer this amazing offer will be available for.

Kooky Carnival Doll - Miasnow skin
(I absolutely LOVE the way the picture above turned out. Hello there Kooky Carnival Doll!)

I chose to wear my own shape with this beautifully detailed clown skin rather than the one provided in the pack and have complimented it with one of several carnival outfits available from Bubble. I probably should have taken the time to find a pair of fitting shoes before taking the pictures too but oh well! I can do that when I'm not in a hurry to post this so you can take advantage of the offer too.

I think I might go see if I can find me some juggling balls or a unicycle!

Until next time,
Kooky.

Om nom nom!

Jaimy Hancroft! She's gone and done it again!

DrD Killer Boots

I just HAD to add this pair of dangly tongued, toe munching, ankle biting "killer" boots to my ever increasing collection of Death Row Design items. As I am sure you know by now I am all for the slightly odd, quirky, kooky creations and these sure do hit that nail right on the head.

I've yet to decide if these are the best toe protectors to have ever been created or the thing nightmares are made of, but either way they make me giggle and I love 'em.

Until next time,
Kooky.

A Little Taste of Strawberry Fizz

Stay on your toes.
Tuck your chin against your chest.
Bob and weave.
Keep pumping that jab into their face.
Concentrate on the body... Don't let them breathe.

Strawberry Fizz Cropped T-shirt

Sound advice for any fighter really.

That is until you come face to face with a barely clad boxing beauty. Concentrate on the body and you're not very likely to see that knock out blow winging its way towards your chin.

Strawberry Fizz Micro Gym Shorts

I'm a big fan of this cute and sexy gym outfit from Strawberry Fizz. I absolutely LOVE the cut of the shorts and the way they fail to cover the majority of my bum in a most delicious way.

For this post I've even done away with my neko tail so you can enjoy an unhindered view...

... Of the shorts!
Not my bum you pervs!

Strawberry Fizz criminally tiny tube top

There are a couple of different tops available to go with the shorts. In the top two of pictures I'm wearing the cropped t-shirt that comes in two versions. There is a regular version (shown) and an exposed version. I like the idea of an exposed version where all the bouncing, wiggling, bobbing and weaving has caused the shirt to ride up and reveal a little more flesh. Yummy!

The second top, shown in the bottom picture, is the criminally tiny tube top. I do believe that if I were to spot someone in such a skimpy little top I'd find myself with ample motivation to keep going and hit my goals for the day. I am not entirely sure that my mind would be on what I was doing though!

I would like to add that no strawberries were harmed during the taking of these pictures but I can't. When I had finished using them as props I devoured them and jolly tasty they were too!

Until next time,
Kooky.

Just before I go I'd like to say a big thank you to my dear friend and owner of the Strawberry Fizz store for the wonderful gift of this outfit. It was a very sweet thing of you to do. *huggles*

429 of 1644 - Sanity Falls

I did it! Yesterday I became the 429th person to complete the Sanity Falls hunt. I had a lot of fun along the way as well reaching points I thought I was going to go crazy. I had to retrace my steps around Sanity Falls to find posters I'd missed and there were a couple of envelopes that I just couldn't seem to find no matter how hard I tried. I could have done with being Sherlock Holmes rather than Alex Blackwell at times but hey I got there in the end.

Sanity Falls Hoodie back

Today I thought I'd unpack all the goodies I'd received and wow there are some real crackers. I love this outfit from Es Stylez that comes with a mesh "Sanity Falls" hoodie, t-shirt and jeans.  If you get all the way to the end of the hunt and are lucky enough to pick up the second prize there is a matching back pack which is great, but not shown here because SL was being a pain and not all of the textures would rez properly - sorry!

Sanity Falls Gift

The only reason I knew I was the 429th person of 1644 to complete the hunt was the awesome " Wall of Fame" that is posted on the website. What a great little idea! I wonder how many names will eventually fill the pages come 30th of June when the hunt ends.

Wall of Fame

There is still time if you want to take part in this hunt. I definitely think it is worth the L$100 for the HUD. Not just for the avatar and prizes, but for the experience and being part of this game. I had a real blast.

Thank you Mad Pea for bringing us the game/hunt and to all the participating stores for bundles of awesome gifts!

Until next time,
Kooky.

Each, Peach, Pear, PLUM...

I spy Tom Thumb...

No I don't.

I spy another smashing Death Row Designs offering in the form of this "Plum Crazy" avatar.

Purple Avatar DrD

Jaimy created this avatar as part of her 30 items in 30 days challenge and I think it's pretty neat. It was sent out to members of the DRD VIP group (L$250 to join) as a gift and it's also available in the store for L$ 300.

Inside the box you get skin, shape, make-up, eyes, the dress and loose boots in purple. Pretty much everything you need with the exception of hair. I added some DrD stockings and dropped by Black Maria to pick up this funky short 'do to complete the look.

Other than certain aspects of the no modify shape not being quite to my personal tastes this avatar is a real steal for the price it is set out at. The skin, clothing and everything else you get is all of the usual high quality that I have come to know and love DrD products for.

Until next time,
Kooky.

[In]Sanity Falls

Alex Blackwell

Posters and envelopes. Envelopes and posters. I've been seeking the little buggers out for the last couple of days and still have a few to go. What IS she babbling on about I hear you cry. Let me explain...

There is an immersive hunt taking place until the 30th of June where you are transformed into psychologist Alexander Blackwell. Alex has been working too hard. He is burnt out and in need of some rest and relaxation. He decides to take a break at Sanity Falls with his wife, Livea. Sounds lovely doesn't it? The trouble is things don't go to plan...

(borrowed from the Mad Pea blog)
Alexander Blackwell (Alex): “I’m waking up with metallic taste of blood tainting my mouth. I look at my clothes and see blood everywhere, but I don’t feel any pain or see any wounds. It probably isn’t my blood. I try to think but realize that I have no memory of the last 24 hours. The last thing I remember is coming to Sanity Falls with my wife. I feel dizzy, someone must have drugged me.

Groggy and confused, I stagger onto my feet and call out for Livea. When silence answers me back, I become aware of my surroundings. I am on the edge of a bridge overlooking the Sanity River. In the puddle of blood beside me lays a phone. It starts ringing..”

When Alex answers the phone it is a call from the people that have taken his wife hostage. He has 24 hours to get enough ransom money together to get her back again. Your task on the hunt is to find fifty posters around Sanity falls.

missing
(Didn't think I'd give one of the numbers away did you?)

On each of the posters is a unique 'phone number' that you have to dial into the cell phone on your HUD. Each number gives you a location to which you must travel and find a money stuffed envelope. Each envelope you find adds some money to your HUD and earns you a prize from the store.

envelope

This hunt is so much fun. There are lots of little hidden surprises and scary noises on the way round Sanity Falls. If you are like me and can't help but click on click-able things to see what they do you're going to have a blast. The more you find the more fun this is that's for sure.

I failed to mention above that the Alex Blackwell avatar shown in the picture is free for all players with the HUD. It is provided at the start point to help immerse you further into the game. The avatar is brought to the hunt/game by Jaimy Hancroft of Death Row Designs with the addition of hair from SHAG. It's an awesome avatar. Great for any guys in SL that are looking for a cheap way to look good - so long as you don't mind a blood splatter or two. Teehee

Anyhow I am off to hunt some more money and prizes and save my...uhh Alex's wife.

Until next time,
Kooky.

Come Fly With Me

dragonfly

It is amazing what little treasures you can come across while browsing the Second Life Marketplace. This cute little dragonfly avatar is available for free from Avalon both in-world and also here.

Unfortunately, my picture doesn't really do justice to it. If you decide to grab one up for yourself you'll be able see how highly detailed the delicate vein spanned wings really are and hear the sound or not as you prefer.

When worn the dragonfly 'hovers' by default, moving slowly when you 'walk' and faster if you either run or fly. I had a giggle-tastic time buzzing around the waters edge looking for a spot to snap some pictures.  Now it's time for me to buzz off and leave you alone - for now at least.

Until next time,
Kooky.

If I can't see you...

All by myself

It means you can't see me!

At least that is what the logic of a young mind would have you believe.

I have been in "discovery mode" since finding sweet little Milena tucked away in my inventory. I've been wanting to find out what is out there for child avatars but think I am going to go more in depth about that in another post.

Likkle sisters

For now here is a picture of Ellie (redhead) and I bouncing around having fun. I think we were trying to be as cute as cute can be to earn some fishies for Ellie and gummy treats for me ( I so love gummy bears and worms!)

The outfits Ellie and I are wearing are from one of her favourite stores American Beagle. They have a wonderful collection of clothing from adorable dresses to more casual outfits like the both of us are wearing. The bright neon bracers, leg-warmers and shoes I am wearing are part of a set from Larnia Kids.

miniKook

It is time for Ellie to go home and looks like mini Kook could use a hand getting down. Why is it that climbing up is so easy and exciting but the coming down is hard and scary? Hopefully it won't be long before someone comes along and rescues the cute little lass otherwise she might just have to go for it and risk scraping her knee. Awwwww.

Until next time,
Kooky.

I'm In Gray Today

Timeless grey SAKIDE

I thought it a little strange of me to have written a post about the Wear Gray shopping event in which I neglected to show you any gray items. I've decided to remedy that today by showing you the hunt gifts from SAKIDE. There are two brains to find in the shop each costing L$10. Inside one brain you'll find grey jeans and black undies that come in low and even lower options. The other contains the mesh knitted sweater which comes in several sizes.

I think this outfit is pretty spiffy for the amount it costs. I especially like the seamless joining of prim cuff to pant leg. To finish off this casual look I've simply added the shoe version of Death Row Designs loose boots at the bottom.

And there we have it. Today I am "Timeless" in Gray.

Until next time,
Kooky.

Princess Milena

I'm lazy a lot of the time when it comes to open boxes that collect in my inventory. Yesterday I found myself at a bit of a loose end so I thought I'd have a look 'n see what goodies I had in my objects folder. I didn't get very far before I came across something that piqued my interest.

little milena 2

I found several group gift from Mynerva - one of which was this extremely cute child skin and shape "Milena" She just looked so adorable that I had to do something with her.

Browsing various blogs as I tend to do I was also aware of a recently sent subscribo gift from Truth Hair called "Bunny" You get the entire collection - each and every colour Truth Hair is available in. How generous is that?

After finding and opening the box I spent a great deal of time deliberating over which colour to pick. Eventually I settled for the "Honey" tone.

little milena 3

Argh! Kooky in a dress! There is something you don't see every day!

Anyway! Before yesterday I had no idea what so ever about shopping for child avatars in Second Life. Lucky for me, my little sister Ellie likes to run around as a kiddo so I asked her for some advice. We ended up going shopping together and eventually ended up at one of her favourite stores called American Beagle.

There is a sale on at the American Beagle store. Items marked with multi-coloured star have been reduced down to just L$50. Ellie and I made a couple of purchases which I plan on showing you soon.

Our little adventure took a bit of a twist after then (we ran off and had some fun) so today I returned for another look around AB only to find there is a bargain basement where nothing costs more than L$25.

The outfit you can see above was only L$20, so if you ignore the L$150 I spent on an AO (yeah, I really am that much of a cheap-skate) this whole child avatar cost a mere L$20!* Pretty amazing, huh?

I'm excited about sharing the Mini Kook and Little Ellie adventure with you.

But for now,
and until next time,
Kooky.

*There is a join fee for the Mynerva group. You have to be a member to receive the skin gift shown here.

Nitroglobus Gallery.

Nitroglobus Gallery opening
Last night I attended the official opening of the Nitroglobus Gallery with my girlfriend Sol and little sister Ellie. I had absolutely wonderful time looking at the art work of Michiel Bechir, dancing to the music and chatting away with other people that attended. I am so happy for my friends, the owners/managers of the Gallery, Nitro Fireguard and Dido Haas.

If you enjoy art in SL I would certainly recommend a visit. The works of the guest artist are in the main hall and off to the side in a separate area you will find some of Dido's own art for your enjoyment. This beautiful couple also welcome visitors down to ground level where you can take a look round the Angel Labs sim they call home. You can teleport down from the gallery or take this limo straight there.

In my opinion it is well worth a look. It has been very nicely landscaped by Nitro's fair hands. The attention to detail and love that has gone into make it look the way it does is more than evident. I really love the meadow and the heart shaped cuddle tree there which you can see part of here

Around the sim you'll find dance and cuddle balls if you fancy a snuggle or boogie with your friends and/or lover while you are there.

I hope you have a grand time if you decide to visit!

Until next time,
Kooky.

Wear Gray 2012

wear grey

From the 6th to the 22nd of this month there is a shopping event to help raise funds for ABTA - The American Brain Tumor Association - called Wear Gray. As you can see from the image above the wonderful residents of Second Life have already made a very generous contribution to this cause.

It isn't just the people that donate their Lindens that makes a difference though, it is the people that care enough to organise events like this one to help raise awareness. So I'd like to take a moment to say thank you to them for all their time, effort and hard work. We shouldn't forget the creators that make things for the very worthy, very real, causes supported within SL either, so thank you to them too.

Grey4day T-Junction

As you can plainly see I'm not wearing gray today, but I couldn't resist this T-shirt from T Junction. " I'm not weird. I'm Limited Edition" I absolutely love it and it is very fitting. I'm a lot of things but weird isn't one of them *coughspluttercough*

Inside the shops around the sim there are a variety of items, some of which have been placed in special vendors that donate 100% of the product sales directly to the cause. I noticed that some of the stores are donating a portion of the sale price on other products in their shops too which is fab.

I hope you have as good of a time walking around, browsing products, finding the gray brain hunt items, and being touched by personal stories shared by a couple of people in their stores as I did.

Until next time,
Kooky.

Ducknipple for Grenade Free Wednesday

DN pullover

I couldn't resist adding this extremely comfortable looking and aptly named snug sweater from Ducknipple to my clothing collection when I saw it out for today's Grenade Free Wednesday event.

The thing that surprised me most is you get four colours for just L$ 95. It seems like day light robbery! There is the beige one you can see above as well as a blue, lilac and grey coloured jumper. Please be aware that you do only get them in one size. It seems to fit me wonderfully though so I have no complaints!

This offer is only available today so if you like what you see I'd advise that you go grab them sooner rather than later.

Until next time,
Kooky.

Tedee - Picnic surprise!

Teddee - Dirty Lynx Mesh avatar

After Tedee went along to the teddy bear picnic he certainly came back with a big surprise. Last thing I expected to see steaming its way up the path was little Ted donning a pair of the wrong trousers. What I can't figure out is whether he was working along side the naughty penguin Feathers McGraw or if he actually played nice and asked Wallace to borrow them for a while. I am sure a deal could have been struck so long as he promised to take Gromit out for his daily walkies.

This is another of the fine Dirty Lynx avatar collection and as you can see from the pictures it is full of little details that really add to the look of the whole thing. I like the gouges and scrapes along the metal seat, body and the big heavy booted feet. Of course the ted sat on the mechanical perch is super cute too. I really like the woven look textures and slight hint of steampunk with his eye patch and everything.

Another good purchase at a super low price. There is bundles of fun to be had with this avatar for just L$149

Happy stomping!
Until next time,
Kooky.

A Tail Of Two Kitties.

I'm aware that I've used the wrong version of "tail" in my title, but hey, it is in keeping with the theme of this post and I like it.

Anyway!
I got to spend some time with my good friend Dido the other evening which has become somewhat of a rare occurrence since the both of us got all loved up and things. We did a little shopping then, as usually happens when we get together, we ended up doing something fun and silly.

I showed Dido a few of the avatars I've brought recently including a mesh cat avatar from Zooby's. It has to be the most realistic cat avatar I have ever come across. It is outstanding! The avatar comes with a HUD which allows to you change the eye colour, perform cat-like actions and also make kitty sounds. Dido liked it so much that she purchased one for herself and then we went off on an adventure...

Kitty Adventures - Zooby's Mesh Cat Avatar.

We started out on Dido's home sim and spent some time playing in the meadow. The long grass really tickled our tummies as we leapt and pounced after the butterflies. We didn't catch any of them of course, but it was great fun pretending that that was the aim of our game.

two worn out kitties - Zooby's Mesh Cat Avatar.

After a lot of chasing, playing and claw sharpening on the tall trees we had a little rest by the edge of the meadow. It was nice to just sit together for a little while and enjoy the glorious surroundings. The sim really is beautiful, just like the couple that live on it!

Play time!

Dido thought it would be fun to pay her friends Catherine and Petrov a visit. Those toes were too much fun for us to resist! We pounced, bounced, pawed and played some more before heading off to our final destination for the night.

Two little Zooby's Kitties
(Dido is the blue eyed cat. I'm the golden eyed one)

As Dido has taken a real shine to the mesh hair that is now available at various places we ended up at the front court yard of Wasabi Pills - somewhere she had not yet been. We weren't really dressed to test out the demos this time round so we decided that we'd leave that until next time we get to spend some time together.

I had a cracking evening and I hope it won't be too long before Dido and I go on another one of our adventures.

Until next time,
Kooky.

Once again please be aware that this avatar has mesh components so you will need to have a mesh enabled viewer to see it properly.

X(Y) Marks The Spot.

With the beginning of the month upon us there are lots of new collections out at the different shopping events around the grid. There is new stuff at GSP, Perfect Wardrobe, Zombiepopcorn Brand, and XYROOM  just to name a few.

This morning I went for a look at the XYROOM collection and found a nicely made casual mesh sweater from Useful Things that took my fancy.

Casual Kook

As you can see I've paired it up with jeans, a belt and another new purchase of mine - the dirty sneakers from Balkanik I love them!

All that shopping means I have a thirst on now. Time for a cuppa tea methinks!
Until next time,
Kooky.

Please note: The top shown in this post is a mesh item. You will need to have a mesh enabled viewer to see it properly.

Howl Amazing Is This?

Boxed Heroes Wolf

I'm not really into the whole Werewolf thing but by gum this avatar is AMAZING! It is a complete mesh avatar and comes with various clothing layer options so you can wear as little or as much of what you see above as you like. You can, of course, go without a stitch of clothing if you're more into the natural look.

I was fortunate enough to pick this avatar up from a lucky chair at Boxed Heroes not long ago. I don't think the chair is there any more, but you can still purchased this Werewolf avatar from the store or marketplace for $L500.

roar

There is a recommended AO to go with this which can be found at the boxed heroes store just below the avatar vendor. As I'm not really planning on wearing it a whole lot but still want to enter into the spirit of the beast when I do went for a cheaper but still great quality option.

I popped over to the Oracul animation store where there is an AO set called Beast (or something very similar to that I can't quite remember.) I picked out a couple of the animations I liked, purchased them and put them together in a little HUD to create my own mini Werewolf AO.  I actually just left the AO running when I was taking pictures for this post so that should give you some idea of the way the animations compliment this hulking beast.

AnyHOOWWWWwwwwwwl! I'm gonna go bite off a few heads. I'm hungry!
Until next time,
Kooky.

Please note: This is a MESH avatar and a mesh enabled viewer is required to see it properly.

Punkee

Punkee

I've been a big fan of the Dirty Lynx brand since I found them a while back now so I can't understand for the life of me why I waited so long to purchase one of their mesh avatars. I think the main reason was the number of them to pick from and the fact that each one seemed to appeal to my kooky nature. I really wasn't sure which to plump for and being absolutely useless when it comes to making decisions it was all made very hard! Looking at it realistically though even that is a poor excuse when they are priced so reasonably at a mere L$149 a pop. I could of had them all - or at least a couple- which is exactly what happened in the end.

These avatars are of the same wonderful quality I've come to know and expect from this creator. The textures are fantastic, the attention to detail is fabulous and as I mention already they are priced extremely reasonably. I have a feeling I'll be back there before long to bulk out my avatar folder with a few more of these quirky little things.

I'm glad to have my very own "Punkee". I find it so strangely adorable! If you are eager to check them out for yourself and face the struggles I did in choosing which to get you can find Dirty Lynx in-world and on marketplace.

Until next time,
Kooky

Please note: This is a MESH avatar and you will need to have a mesh enabled viewer to see it properly

Little Bitty Kitty Committee

Little Bitty Kitty by Kooky Jules

Oh. My. Goodness.

This little avatar should come with an adorabubble overload warning. I literally can’t take my eyes off myself when I’m wearing this and it seems that it makes for a very good conversation starter. I only had it a matter of hours before being I told I looked cute and was asked where I got it from.

The detail pumped into this avatar considering its size makes this an absolute master piece in my opinon. The hard work that doubtlessly went into producing something of such fantastic quality is definitely not reflected in its price at all. I think it is an absolute steal at just L$100.

Likkle Bitty Kitty

The avatar can be found here at Cafe Neko no MORI along with a host of free goodies to go with it. The free items include an extremely cute strawberry hat and booties as well as a duck mount that you can ride around on. Great fun at such a low price. I’m very impressed indeed.

Not only do you get the cute cat that comes in several different furr patterns you also get a HUD (Heads UP Display) which, when clicked, brings up a menu with a number of built in poses. Your kitty can dance, sleep, run and even..ahem.. assume a position ready to do a poo!

Delightful, eh?
I’m just glad I’m a cat because it means I don’t have to pick up after myself.

Until next time,
Kooky.

Revamp

paint splatters by Kooky Jules

I've been trying to decide whether I should revive my little blog or not over the last couple of weeks and as is probably obvious considering I'm writing this now the answer is yes, I am going to! Before I kick off with a few new items though I think I'm going to give the whole blog a bit of an overhaul so if you come back over the coming days and maybe weeks and see everything looking a bit different it's probably just me messing about trying to find something I like.

I don't know if I'm going to blog regularly or irregularly. I guess it depends on how many goodies I find that tickle my Kooky pickle. I have a few delightful things all ready in the pipeline to share with you and as always look forward to finding new things to showcase and share here with you .

I'm looking forward to getting back on track and welcome anyone that wants to join me with open arms. You can hop on the Kooky train for free, but it'll cost you fifty quid to get off again.

Ha! Just kidding.

Until next time,
Kooky.
